The name says it all! I'm excited to share the greatness of an organization that is dedicated to love, hope & unity. On Saturday, February 15th, I attended the "Women That Soar Awards" in Dallas, TX. The event took place at "The Statler Hotel" as many of Dallas' finest came together to celebrate a beautiful occasion. The Awards Ceremony was hosted by Good Morning America's Sarah Haines. Upon my arrival from Los Angeles, the event coordinator "Kenna Roundtree Williams" (owner of Events by Kenna) was a joy to communicate with as she made sure that scheduling was in order as she provided my assistant & I with clear, precise directions while making sure that I was well accommodated & with excellence before & during the event. I was booked prior to the event to provide Professional Makeup Services for the Founder of the organization "Gina Grant". Compliments continue to roll in regarding how flawless Mrs. Grant was for the occasion. I'll take a moment to share details of the makeup look as many have inquired. Gina & I decided to go with a fresh Hollywood Glam Look. I used all organic beauty products by Nakeah Cosmetics of Hollywood. Gina Grant's look for the evening included partial smokey eyes, soft glowy cheeks with a pop of color on the lips & flawless, camera ready skin using my organic, non-toxic, animal cruelty-free liquid foundation. On the eyes, I used my neutral eye shadow palette which includes a soft gold and beautiful shades of brown for a nice but subtle contrast on the eyes. For her lips, she selected a best seller from my matte lipstick collection. Due to the popular demand, I am happy to share that "Betty Boo" is back! It is a gorgeous velvet matte lipstick; a powerful & very classy shade of red. Gina Grant as the Founder of Women That Soar is a true visionary. While enjoying so many wonderful people of my hometown during the cocktail hour, I had such a fun time during my red carpet interviews. We laughed as excitement & beautiful personalities filled the room. While sharing funny stories with red carpet commentator Dora Chu; known as "Dora Spectacular", we enjoyed the great atmosphere. As you can likely tell from the moments captured during red carpet photos & during the event, everyone had a blast. Although, this was indeed a formal affair, I personally enjoyed breaking the ice a bit with guests prior to entering the ballroom. It was a joy to mingle with old and new friends. Dora Chu hosted the red carpet with such beautiful energy & style which was also fun. Along with the media & event guests, we were all excited to celebrate with the dynamic organization and the propelling honorees.
Live entertainment for the evening included beautiful sounds by Grammy Award-Winning Gospel Artist "Yolanda Adams" who's known as the "Queen of Contemporary Gospel Music". As well, guests were elated to enjoy music by the stunning Canadian Country Music Singer "Tenille Arts". There was an extraordinary performance by Grammy Award-Winner "Gretchen Wilson"and she too rocked the house as she performed her hit single "Redneck Woman"; which was a number one hit on the Billboard Country Charts. There was also a phenomenal performance by actress/singer "Amber Riley" known for her awesome role in the Golden Globe Award-Winning Musical "Glee". Guests were up on their feet and we danced the night away. During these dynamic performances, guests were served a five-course dinner, wine & champagne. I managed to get a taste of the food in between providing touch-ups backstage. I must say "kudos" the chef! The food was quite delicious.
The Women That Soar Awards was a beautiful experience & a night that will forever be remembered. Learning more about the stories of the ladies who were honored that night is quite inspiring. Each award was well-deserved to say the least. Their stories remain heartfelt as the ballroom was filled with those who came together to celebrate their greatness & their dynamic power to overcome. Read more about the award honorees! These ladies have not only overcome tremendous trials & tribulations; they've followed their passion with great accomplishments. Due to their strength, hard work & vision, they've each executed their dreams & evolved with great dedication, while achieving phenomenal success. "Women That Soar" is a profound organization that recognizes greatness around the world. It is an ongoing celebration. I must say, it is a remarkable example of All Things Beauty.
